OK, sorry for the pun… but it’s big news. Krispy Kreme, the international doughnut chain which opened its first New Zealand store in Manukau last February, is opening two new Auckland stores.
The world-famous doughnut and coffee chain proved so popular, plans are afoot to continue to spread smiles across Auckland with a brand-new store in the CBD’s Chancery Square, and a site at the Domestic Airport.
The expansion follows just five months after the Manukau store launch, which was the largest Krispy Kreme opening ever executed worldwide. The store now serves 10,000 customers a week, and will transfer its fresh doughnuts, still hot, to the two new locations every day.
Kiwis will be able to enjoy Krispy Kreme’s delicious doughnuts in the inner city this November, by dining in at Chancery Square or having doughnuts delivered direct to their door via UberEats. Travellers will be able to grab doughnuts and coffee on the go as they pass through the regional end of Auckland Airport’s Domestic Terminal in early October.
Krispy Kreme’s new Auckland stores will create more than 60 new jobs, in addition to the 140 staff currently employed at their Manukau site.
