Happy birthday to Krispy Kreme!
Can you believe it’s been a year since the first Krispy Kreme doughnut shop opened in New Zealand? I went to their opening day at the store in Manukau – their biggest ever store opening worldwide – and it was so much fun – I even got to go through and watch how the doughnuts are made and created a few of my own!
Although it’s definitely a ‘sometimes’ food, a Krispy Kreme doughnut really is the sweetest of treats. I have a sporty teenager, and I’m always transporting him, and many of his mates, from one training or game to another. I always get them something to eat between events – they are always starving! If they get in the car to see a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts, I most definitely become ‘favourite mum’!
Since February 2018, the business has gone from strength to strength, introducing two further stores at Auckland Domestic Airport and more recently in Auckland CBD. Time-poor doughnut enthusiasts are now even able to get their OG fix at home or on the run, with doughnuts available via UberEats and at select BP stations across the North Island.
As a special birthday treat, Krispy Kreme is giving Kiwi customers their first ever offer; purchase one full-priced dozen box of doughnuts in-store at Krispy Kreme on Thursday 28th February and get another dozen box of Original Glazed™ doughnuts for just $1.
Krispy Kreme aficionados are also invited to join in with its official birthday celebrations at a Dough-not grow up party , to be held on its official birthday at the original Manukau store:
When: 28thFebruary 2019, from 4pm
Where: Krispy Kreme, 3 Ronwood Ave, Manukau, Auckland, 2104
The dough-nut grow up party will offer lots of good old-fashioned fun, with plenty of party games customers can get involved in, including face painting, a spinning ‘doughnut of fortune’ with prizes to be won and a DJ to entertain customers until 8pm.
